Subscriptions have now been halted.
Thanks for your interest in subscribing to Spelling Lessons. I’m now not able to accept any new subscriptions and I’d like to be transparent about why.
Here’s some quick context:
- End of 2025 I started my S2C practitioner training.
- March 2026 - I had to quit my full-time job to free up the time to work with spellers so I could complete my training
- August 2026 - I became a certified practitioner
On becoming certified, naturally my priority was to set up my practice and work full-time as a practitioner. However, that wasn’t possible.
I didn’t have the legal right to work here in Costa Rica yet. My application was unlikely to be accepted for that until mid-2027.
So, I created Spelling Lessons to provide a solution for the need for parents and practitioners to have regular, quality lessons easily accessible and affordable.
Then, just 3 weeks since launch, I benefitted from a minor miracle!
My application was accepted...many many months, or even a year early!
That means I am now able to work full-time as a practitioner.
Each of the lessons I write takes somewhere around 4 hours, if I’m quick.
As one of only 2 S2C practitioners in the whole of Latin America, my priority is to expand spelling to the 1.5 - 2 million non-speakers here.
As such, I have decided I must immediately put my focus on setting up my practice here, which won’t leave the time to continue delivering the lessons.
That’s a difficult and easy decision at the same time. I love writing the lessons, but I see it as an urgent need to help the non-speakers directly here.
All subscribers will receive the lessons they’ve paid for, and I’ll be throwing in a bonus too.
If you’d like to find out more about what I’m starting here in Costa Rica, you can go to www.FarosCostaRica.com.
And, if you’d like to stay in touch and be kept in the loop when I set up the social media pages for that, drop me a note on the Contact page in the menu above.
Many thanks!
Adam
P.S. One of the most pressing needs we have here is the lack of practitioners. However, the costs of training are way out of reach for local people (average monthly wage is $1000). So, I am currently training for a marathon to raise funds to cover the training and related costs for a new local practitioner here.
